Beau

Meet Beau!!!

Beau has been in foster for a bit over a year due to initially being starved and chained and heartworm positive. He’s an amazing dog at just under 2 years old now. He is neutered and weighs 50 pounds give or take.

“Beau’s bio

What do people like about dogs? It’s likely things like their limitless loyalty, their hilarious antics, and their loving companionship. If you’re looking for a puppy pal who embodies all of these traits, you’re in luck. Meet my good pal Beau. Since recovering from severe malnutrition and heart worms due to chronic neglect during his first year of life, Beau is now a sweet bundle of happiness. At less than 2 years old, he has all the bouncy energy and joy of a puppy. As if walking on springs, Beau constantly leaps about with the joy that only a beloved rescue pup would know. At other times, he’s a totally lazy cuddle bug, eagerly sidling up to his human friends on the couch, awaiting the back scratches and belly rubs he adores. He is also a perfect Southern gentleman, always responding respectfully to “no” commands, coming when called, and obediently submitting for crate time, when instructed. He is a champion eater and leash walker, and is learning daily the fun of playing with his toys. Beau gets along beautifully with other dogs, once he has a chance to get to know them—but does prefer to eat in private, where he can be sure other pups won’t interfere. He has no issues with people around his food. Beau loves a car ride to go visiting human friends and pet supply stores, and he enjoys dressing up in various outfits. He is quite dapper you see!

Though he does take inexensive daily meds to keep his lungs functioning well, he is a totally normal, happy healthy boy who got an A+ report from the cardiologist a few weeks ago clearing him for adoption and wishing him an amazing and long life – which he so deserves. While they are not an issue, his front teeth are a bit worn (from fighting off flies and fleas, and likely chewing on his chain before being rescued). He’s super friendly with people, even kids (though, due to his occasional exuberance and size, might be best in a home with school aged children, rather than babies and toddlers). But one final word of warning: once you meet Beau, you won’t be able to resist him. He is EXACTLY the dog you’re looking for! We will miss him so much
