Bella

Meet Bella!!! She is the Mom to Ginger, Sophie and Buffy who have already been adopted. When we intake puppies we always want to take the Mom too if we can! Sometimes that’s not possible, but this time we lucked out because this girl is amazing! Here is what her southern foster has to say about her:

“Meet Bella – Bella is a very special girl who is 2 years old, now spayed
and 48 pounds. When you meet her you will immediately see that she is as
sweet as can be. She knows some basic obedience commands like sit and
shake. If you extend your hand she will give you her paw every time. She
soaks up any attention she can get, she loves to be petted and doted on.
Though she is super people oriented she is also okay spending time on
her own.

She is crate trained and housebroken. Bella enjoys going on
leash walks, lounging on the couch and sunning in a fenced yard. She has
been good for baths too. She is one of the nicest dogs you will meet.
Her smile and soulful eyes will steal hearts wherever she goes. She has
been somewhat interested in the foster family’s cat who avoids dogs. She
has not shown any significant prey drive. She has been an absolute
pleasure to foster.

She was rescued by Dog4U, Inc with another dog, a 1 year old named
Layla. In a perfect world, these girls would be placed together as they
get along so well, but they are NOT bonded and it is not a deal breaker.
Bella is the mother to three pups who already found their forever homes through Safe With Us last fall, Ginger, Sophie and Buffy. At the time the pups were surrendered, Bella’s owner was unwilling to surrender her. The situation changed due to even more severe financial constraints and eviction resulting from a bad car accident. It is now Bella’s turn to find her forever family. Bella was
found as a stray by a young girl who always tried to help the strays in
her area of rural South Carolina. She saved dogs in order to re-home
them to hopefully a better situation, unfortunately she was not able to
afford veterinary care (let alone spaying). Once she became homeless,
she made the heartbreaking decision to surrender Bella and Layla so that
they could be placed as well. Per her initial owner, Bella was an escape
artist. She did not want to stay in an outdoor pen during the day and
would wander. Who could blame her. During her time with us in foster
care, that has not been the case. She goes outside into a fenced yard
with her buddy Layla and happily hangs out on the deck or in the yard
with no issues.

She will likely do well in any home environment, though she has not been
exposed to small children. She has been fabulous with middle school aged
kids. Bella wants to be a part of the family, a part of your world. She
would love a family that will spend time with her at home and take her
on adventures, go on hikes, and do whatever activities you want to do.
She loves to lay at your feet by the fireplace or cuddle up on the couch
while you watch TV. I just loved fostering her. One of my favorite
things about her was she would sit at my feet and suddenly take her paw
and gently pat me on the top of my thigh as if to say let’s play or hey
I am down here and I want some attention- please pet me! She has many
super cute characteristics. She will definitely hearts wherever she
goes!”
