Darlin

Meet Darlin! She is a 1 year old, 35 pound mixed breed female. She is spayed and up to date on all of her vetting. She is coming to us from our friends at Dog4U, here is what her southern foster has to say:

Darlin is a delightful and majestic girl. She is a somewhat tall, definitely leggy,
beautiful girl with a very shiny coat. She loves her people and will cuddle up as close as she can to you. She is crate trained , has been doing well in the house loose and is leash trained. Though she was a tad timid at the shelter, she is very friendly to everyone and really likes to be petted.

This sweet girl was part of the very large euthanasia list due to space at a very rural and underfunded South Carolina shelter. She entered the shelter twice as a stray, she was reclaimed the first time but not the second time. We assume she did not have a fenced yard. In foster care, she has fully respected a 4 foot fenced yard. The same dog that hung out quietly on the office couch was slated for death simply because of county policy and the overwhelming number of animals at the shelter. While she was one a the lucky ones, so many others were not that week.

She loves to sit with you and be near to you, she also loves sunning in the fenced yard. She loves to hang out in the yard with you while you garden and do chores. She also seems to enjoy car rides, given she is on the tall side it’s easy for her to hop right into our truck and ride shot gun. She is quiet in the home. When I do yard work she follows me around like a puppy and hangs out with me. Afterwards, she loves to be petted and spend quiet time with you. She enjoys spending time with my husband as much as she does spending time with me. One of her favorite things is to sit on a soft chair or the couch. She is not interested in jumpy in your face dogs, she is uncomfortable with that and backs way/avoids that kind of interaction. She would do fine as an only dog
or placed in a home with another dog, if in a home with another dog it should be a calmer relaxed dog. She is a cuddle bug and loves to get all the love you can give her.

Her crate was in my master bed with 2 other foster dogs and a foster cat. I did not cat test her but she did not seem bothered by the cat being in the room. She is over interested in the cat when they are loose together, not aggressive but gets far too
excited when he walks through the house so she would need a dog savvy cat or a home with no cats.”
